Last week our Year 12 Sixth Form students took part in a one-to-one mock interview to help them prepare for real interviews in the future. Very soon many of our Sixth Form students will moving on to University and a variety of career paths, so this is an essential skill to develop. We were delighted to welcome so many representatives from employment and further & higher education to assist with the mock interviews.
Leading up to the interviews, Sixth Form students also took part in employability workshops lead by Next Step South West. This included CV workshops and interview preparation. On conclusion of the interviews, students were then given valuable feedback on their interview technique, CV, appearance and body language.
On behalf of TCS6 we would like to thank the following people for supporting and giving up their time to attend the interviews; Eutopia Nails & Beauty, Craig Barber & Ray Mildiner, from the Job Centre Plus, Ewa Fojt & Peter Reeves from NSSW, Jim Prior from Plant & Engineering Service, Kieran Barclay from Alive Health, Mark Haskell from Teignmouth Golf Club, Mark Moore from D&C Police, Pat Henchie, Sue Nicholls from Counselling for Carers, Shaldon Zoo, Jeremy Ellison from Ashwoods Lightfoot Ltd, and Rosemary Jago from the RD&E.
The next phase of our employability curriculum in the Sixth Form, is our work experience opportunity taking place week beginning 6th July.
