Another great week of Year 12 Work Experience
Our amazing Year 12 students ended their academic year by spending a week in work experience with many choosing to spend this time in a placement conducive to their future career aspirations.
All students researched and secured their own placements including experiences in our local primary schools, Dawlish Hospital, Partrac Ltd and Lazy Jacks.
Students have revealed that as well as having a fabulous time meeting new people, they have gained many transferable skills such as teamwork, commitment, communication and time management. In addition, some have secured summer work from their placements which will also aid any future job applications and be useful to include in personal statements when applying to university.
Employers have also expressed their delight in working with such mature and interesting students and have welcomed the opportunity to work more closely with TCS6 students.
It is clear that work experience plays a vital role in improving the marketability of our students and TCS6 is very fortunate to be part of such a supportive community who are willing to provide such opportunities.
“Work experience is essential for any student, and we at Teignmouth Community School are so pleased that the employers we work with are accommodating and provide amazing opportunities for our students to get a taster of the world of work. The quality of this year’s placements has been outstanding and our students are very lucky to have these opportunities. We would sincerely like to thank the employers for their continued support.”
